Open Congress at Tate Britain – London

Together with Neil Cummings, my professor at the time, I was a co-founder of the art and research network Critical Practice.
Its first project consisted in organising a symposium and collective discussion event at the Tate Britain museum.

The topic of the congress – how to apply principles derived from open-source software in the production of art – was reflected in the structure of the event itself. The division between the roles of organisers, moderators, presenters and the public was deliberately blurred and questioned.

I was part of a core group of organisers and the event was a path-changing experience for me, as it represents the progression in my career from video- towards collective and conceptual art.
